Our Story
Grace. Hope. Restoration.
Serenity Sisters was born from a personal understanding of what it means to need a second chance — and the belief that every woman deserves a safe, faith-filled place to begin again.

Why Serenity Sisters Exists
Serenity Sisters was founded on faith, hope, healing, and the belief that recovery is possible. The name holds a special place in our hearts — it is dedicated to the loving memory of our father, Mario A. Espinoza, who struggled with addiction but found recovery and remained clean and sober for more than 15 years. During his recovery, he found strength through Alcoholics Anonymous, where the Serenity Prayer became his favorite prayer. His journey reminds us that lasting recovery is possible, and it inspires the work we do every day.
My own story (Rebeca Espinoza) is also one of recovery. I lived in active addiction for many years before finding sobriety. Because of that experience, I understand how important stability, accountability, and a supportive community are for maintaining long-term recovery. My passion is to help women facing the same challenges by providing the tools, encouragement, and hope that helped me rebuild my life. My sister, Irma Patricia Gonzalez, brings another vital perspective — while she was never addicted herself, she grew up with a father whose addiction kept him absent, and watched her own sister struggle through active addiction for years. Her experiences have given her deep compassion and an unwavering commitment to supporting women and their families on the path to healing.
Together, we believe recovery is about more than becoming sober. It is about restoring lives, rebuilding relationships, finding purpose, and creating a stable foundation for a brighter future. At Serenity Sisters, we believe every woman deserves a second chance — and we are honored to walk beside her on her journey toward lasting recovery.
Mission
Our Mission
At Serenity Sisters, our mission is rooted in personal experience, faith, and the belief that lasting recovery is possible for every woman. We are committed to providing a faith-centered, supportive environment where women can heal from addiction, rebuild their confidence, restore relationships, and develop the tools needed for long-term sobriety and independent living. Inspired by the legacy of recovery and the message of the Serenity Prayer, we strive to help every woman find the courage to change what she can, the serenity to accept what she cannot, and the wisdom to build a healthy, meaningful future.
Vision
Our Vision
A community where every woman who walks through our doors finds not just a place to stay, but a place to belong — where she is seen, supported, and equipped to step into the life God created her to live. We envision a Christ-centered home where women are loved without judgment, encouraged through every challenge, and equipped with the tools they need to live healthy, independent, and faith-filled lives. Through biblical guidance, accountability, and genuine sisterhood, we believe healing is possible and transformation can become a lifelong journey. Our Vision is to see women: Find lasting freedom from addiction. Grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Discover their true identity and purpose. Restore relationships with family and loved ones.Build confidence, stability, and independence. Become women who inspire hope and encourage others through their own testimony.
Our Foundation
Our Faith Foundation
Serenity Sisters is a Christ-centered home. Our faith is not a program requirement — it is the foundation of everything we do. We believe that lasting transformation is possible through the grace of God, and we create an environment where women are encouraged to grow spiritually, connect with their faith, and find hope that goes beyond their circumstances. Residents are not required to hold any particular belief, but they will find a home that is saturated with prayer, Scripture, and the kind of love that does not give up.
"She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future." — Proverbs 31:25
